Paired Quiz

This is a very quick and simple technique to use.  It encourages discussion, retrieval and engages students in prior learning.

It can work well as a connect or review activity.

Choose some material you would like students to use to quiz each other.  For example:

• Flash cards
• Single exam questions
• Knowledge organiser
• Retrieval grid

One student now quizzes the other using the material.

Provide a time limit and then ask students to swap around.

This engages all students, encourages discussion and allows students to recall and retrieve information.

The teacher can either circulate to check the accuracy of answers and correct as needed or wait until students have finished and then invite whole class answers.
